Second Life is cool. So is Mokey Mokusei. ;)

I heard about this incredible place from the author of Orlando Report, who thought I might enjoy taking on another existence in addition to all the other stuff I do in my first life.

He was right.

Second Life isn't a game, exactly, although it has game-like qualities. If you've played The Sims Online, then you have a good idea what Second Life is all about. However, take the basic idea of The Sims Online, and think much more real.

Huh?

What I mean is, while The Sims Online was clearly a game -- and some complained that it was actually no more than a "glorified chatroom", Second Life has more to offer.

Let me cut to the chase: Many people make their primary livings -- real life livings -- in Second Life. Many people learn skills from classes in Second Life. Many people make new friends in Second Life. This is not just a game or a "glorified chatroom." It's the entire idea of the Internet, with chatrooms, games, e-commerce, schools, films, and more brought to 3-D in a virtual world.

Its title is accurate. This is your second life.

My personal goal is to open a business. This is something I've wanted to do for years in the real world, but couldn't because the investment for this sort of thing would have been too steep. However, in Second Life, if your business fails, all you've lost are a few dollars and some spare time. And in that spare time, chances are you've had fun and met interesting people. Maybe you've found another vocation or hobby while you were there.

For now, I'm saving Linden dollars (Second Life's currency, which is tradable for real-life currency) by working for an artist named Filthy Fluno who displays his work in a Second Life gallery. He's a Boston, MA, resident in real life, and one hell of an artist! If you're in need of a tour, catch me in-world, and I'll take you around.

Today I played with making clothes in Second Life. This is a nice way to make money, but you have to be good.

What do you think? My first outfit attempt (the boots, skirt and choli are mine... as well as the underclothes, but those can't be seen, of course).

I have some work to do, I suppose.

Yeah. Japanese. Remember?

Feh. Why does the real world have to spoil my fun? ;)

Glad to see I've sent you something good. Did you make those clothes, by any chance? I hear that's how things happen there. All kinds of user- friendly.
